The Ryan Family!

June 22, 2011

“One cannot collect all the beautiful shells on the beach; one can collect only a few, and they are more beautiful if they are few.” -Anne Morrow Lindbergh

A few weeks ago, I headed to New Buffalo, a cute little beach town off of Lake Michigan, to photograph the beautiful Ryan family!  With all the rain northern Indiana has been seeing, we were extremely lucky to have a beautiful day [it poured a TON the very next morning].

As I was editing these family images, I couldn’t stop myself from smiling and grinning foolishly at the computer screen.  Jen and Kevin, your family is BEAUTIFUL.  It was so great to spend the evening getting to know you and your little ones, and to capture this age and the interactions between all 5 members of your gorgeous family.

Thanks for letting me be a part of it!

Okay, Maike, here’s one for you :) “Blessed are they who see beautiful things in humble places where other people see nothing.” ~ Camille Pissarro This fits you so perfectly! As I look at your amazing work and recall the stories you’ve shared w/ me about some of the locations you have shot at, it’s clear you have a gift of revealing unexpected beauty in unconventional places. You are truly an artist! And although I chose an obviously beautiful location (because I love the beach), your artistry shows in the way you’ve captured my kids’ personalities and our family dynamics! Not only do we love the photos (we will treasure these forever), but we loved the entire experience we had w/ YOU! What an awesome memory and thank YOU for being part of it! I hope we get to work with you again! Maybe next time, you can shoot the kids in front of that big purple building you were telling me about! :)
