Sarah & Alex Wedding!

July 8, 2013

“Love is the arms that are holding you
Love never fails you” -Brandon Heath

Sarah and Alex had a BEAUTIFUL wedding!  They were married on Sarah’s parents tree farm in Middlebury, Indiana a few weeks ago, on a weekend that was supposed to rain off and on, but luckily, ALL of the rain that day went around the tree farm, and their outdoor wedding, and tent reception.

And while it was hot, their day turned out great.  Sarah had thoughtfully put together so many intricate details for the wedding [including a bright pink towel to dab off drips of sweat], and a theme of puzzles that went through the entire event, from their save the dates, to the ceremony, to the reception.

Alex and Sarah, thanks so much for inviting us to be a part of your wedding day!  We had such a great time, and LOVE the images from your day!

ps: my two favorite moments are when the bride and groom first see each other and also, immediately after the ceremony when it’s just the two of them being excited about being married, so so SO sweet :).  You can see both moments below.

pps: when we took photos of the parents, I asked Sarah’s mom if she had a “good” side she preferred to be photographed from [Sarah likes her right side better, so I wanted to double check with mom too], Sarah’s awesome dad then says to me, “Oh, she has 4 good sides”…. :)

ppps: Special thanks to Jessica, who was my second shooter for the day!

*Sarah wanted to a photograph of generational rings.  Pictured here is her own new ring, along with both her and Alex’s mothers, and their grandmothers rings.  I LOVE it.

*In my ps, I told you about my favorite moments, below is totally one of them!  Right after walking down the aisle as husband and wife :)

*image below, totally one of my FAVS!  It screams big WALL PORTRAIT!

Most memorable moment?
S: First look. Getting to see my groom for the first time. It was a fun moment to sneak up behind him and see his reaction.
A: Singing during our ceremony to each other. Also our sparkler exit was pretty memorable.

Advice for future brides?
S: Hire Maike Rinaye for your pictures! All you have when the wedding is over is pictures to remind you of the wonderful day.
A: Soak it all in. Take time to look around and see all the people that are there. Enjoy every second.

Funniest memory?
S: The first time the wedding bells were ringing and we had to kiss at the reception Alex tried to dip me and tripped and almost dropped me.
A: When I imitated Sarah’s happy dance during the ceremony when the pastor was talking about it.  Also when Tenley and Oliver drove the little white car down the aisle.

If you could do it all over would you change anything?
S: I would not change a thing. I feel like it all went smooth and the weather was perfect. Couldn’t have gone any better!
A: It went really well and the things that didn’t go perfectly are the things we will remember. It gives the wedding more character that way.

For our honeymoon we went to Punta Cana in Dominican Republic and stayed at an all inclusive resort “Magestic Elegance”. It was beautiful!
