Abbie & Kolin’s Wedding!

October 11, 2013

Life’s a long and winding ride
Better have the right one by your side
Happiness don’t drag its feet
And time moves faster than you think

Back in mid-September, we traveled down to Indy to photograph Abbie & Kolin’s wedding!  You might remember them from last fall.  That’s when Abbie told me that Kolin “Really likes his truck” [which OF COURSE we incorporated into a few shots on their wedding day!].

Abbie and Kolin were TOTALLY up for anything, and since they wanted to see each other before hand, we were able to jump in the car [and truck :)], to hit up a few other stops outside of the church!  My favorite parts of this wedding were the dried flower bouquets [so cool!], the cowboy boots [ALL the bridal party participants wore them], the over-all soft country feel of everything, the beautiful outdoor family images, and Abbie and Kolin grabbing Grandma and wheeling her out to the dance floor in her wheel chair…. you guys are so cool.  Your wedding was beautiful, and according to Momma Burns, “Just so them!”  I couldn’t agree more!

Abbie and Kolin, you guys were GREAT to work with!  Thanks so much for inviting us to be a part of your big day!  We loved working with you!

~Maike

ps: Special thanks to second shooter Jeff!

pps: Some of you might recognize Angela as well [Abbie’s sister], I photographed her head shots last year :).

BRIDE & GROOM Q&A:

Most memorable moment?

A: Sharing the day with all of the people I love!

K:  Seeing Abbie for the first time in her dress. She was so beautiful.

Advice for future brides?

A: Enjoy the time getting ready with you friends and family! It is your day, don’t let anyone take it from you! :)

K: Don’t stress too much. I was more nervous than I needed to be. It was actually a lot easier being in front of the church than I thought it would be.

Funniest memory?

A:  Getting to see my new little cousin catch the garter and wear it on his head.

K:  When I was walking down the aisle to seat my mother, and was supposed to stop and stand by the Pastor Kurt. Instead I kept walking about half way to the back of the church and then realized I was supposed to stay up there with him. I had to do the walk of shame back to the front of the church.

If you could do it all over would you change anything?

A: Maybe try to sleep a bit more the night before. :)

K:  I wouldn’t change a thing.

Honeymoon?

Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Any other vendors you want to brag on?

I just have to say that we LOVED the folks from All – American Picnic Company. They were fantastic to work with and the owner, Phil, served my meal (Abbie), and carried it to the table for me. It is his tradition because he would hate to see a bride ruin her wedding dress with food. A very sweet man!

Also, we got TONS of complements on our flowers! Jennifer from Smokey Mountain Woodcrafts worked closely with me and my allergies in order to make our day perfect! Thank you to her and all of her hard work!

A HUUUUUUGE shout out to M.Rinaye Photography for being so freaking awesome! We loved every second of our wedding, and you all were such a huge part of that! Maybe we should meet up for a frosty some time? :) [<-and yes, yes we should! :), some of these images here might or might not have been taken in the Wendy’s parking lot ;)].

Oh my goodness, those CLOUDS! And I’ve never seen a dried flower bouquet, but they pulled it off beautifully (and so easy to keep)! This wedding looked like a blast and you did a great job capturing it, Maike!
