Allison & Eric! South Bend/Goshen, Indiana Fall Wedding Photography

October 29, 2015

“Love is friendship that has caught fire. It is quiet understanding, mutual confidence, sharing and forgiving. It is loyalty through good and bad times. It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weaknesses.” Ann Landers

So here’s something I never thought would happen: As a 31 year old, one of my best friends, is my mother.  It’s true.  We talk on the phone two or three times a week [she lives in New Mexico], I ask her for advice, she encourages me, and we have a very special awesome friendship.  If you’d ask me as a teenager, I would have told you my mother was very cool, but not my best friend.

And in addition to now sharing my anniversary date with Allison, from what I saw at her wedding, her mother is also one of her closest friends.  That is so cool.

Allison and Eric were first on the blog last winter, and are now back with their October wedding!

Favorite things about their day: the awesome hangers for each bridesmaid [see below], the fabulously cute/shy/awesome dancer/ring bearer [Eric’s 5 year old brother Garrett], how the priest asked Allison if she would like to “kiss her groom now?”, and Allison’s grandparents who have been married 66 years!!! [during family portraits, grandpa was so proud to tell me how long they’d been together].

As far as couples go, Allison and Eric are of the best.

I occasionally ask a lot from my bride and grooms [like when I asked Gina and Eric to climb a giant hill so I could get a big sky/little people image], so when I asked if they’d climb the fire escape to catch the last beautiful glimpses of the sun setting, they were awesome and climbed those stairs like champs!  And HOLY COW, the amazing images I got up there were 10000% worth it [I’ll point them out below].

I love that you two have been together for 10 years, and that you were married on 10-10.  Here’s to another 10,000 years together!

Most memorable moment?

A: Me having a REALLY hard time getting Eric’s ring to fit on his finger.

E:  Seeing how beautiful Allison was walking down the aisle.

Advice for future brides/grooms?

A: Try and relax, take it all in. The day just flies by!

E: Take a honeymoon, you’ll need it!

Funniest memory?

A:  Watching our ring bearer, Garrett, JACK IT UP on the dance floor!

E:  Allison having a hard time putting the ring on my finger.

If you could do it all over would you change anything?

A: Not a thing!

E:  Nope!

We went to St. Croix for our honeymoon. It was absolutely amazing! We stayed at a resort for 7 nights, and met some pretty awesome people. It was the perfect week, we definitely did not want to come home!

Lastly, are there any other vendors that you LOVED and want to give a special shout out to?

Angie Anderson with Belle Behind the Ball was pretty great! She was our day-of coordinator. I LOVED the flowers, and Chandra with Snapdragon. And of course Maike is our FAVE! We had a lot of fun with you; you are truly amazing at what you do! :-)
