Shannon & Tim! South Bend, Indiana Winter Wedding

January 12, 2016

“There must be a God I believe it’s true Cause I can see His love When I look at you.” -Matthew West

We finally got to photograph Shannon and Tim’s winter wedding up in South Bend!

And while it was more ‘rainy fall’ than ‘white Christmas’, it was BEAUTIFUL!

Second shooter Peter came along with we had the best time hanging out with Shannon, Tim and their friends and families.

We started the day at the Double Tree in downtown South Bend [I am a HUGE fan of this hotel, they have the best Presidential suite to get ready in, and really classy rooms that are modern and not dated].

Favorite parts of this wedding: the amazingly gorgeous decorated church [my first time here, and the Christmas winter decorations were AMAZING], Shannon’s cute warm shrug [while being warm, it was also super classy and felt like it went amazingly with the entire look and feel of the wedding], all the little boys who were ushers [adorable], Tippecanoe at Christmas [if you haven’t been, you should put it on your to-do list during the holidays next year], the very thought out details of the reception [goody bags for the kids, a photo challenge, a candy bar!].

You two had a beautiful wedding, and I’m so glad that we were able to connect at Brides Night Out last year!

So excited to share these images with you!

ps: Special thanks to Peter for second shooting with me!  If you’re in South Bend and looking for an amazing high school senior photographer/or some fabulous Lake Michigan portraits, you MUST look him up!  HERE.

Most memorable moment?

S: The doors opening and trying to find Tim at the end of the aisle. Making that walk with my dad and seeing seeing my mom and my dad’s smile as Tim took shook my dad’s hand.

T: Standing at the altar watching Shannon walking down the aisle and taking her from her dad. I remember thinking she was so beautiful and I was so lucky.

Advice for future brides/grooms?

S: While standing in the vestibule of the church my brother, while holding my hands, said to me “Shannon, the hard part is over. The decision has been made, this is the fun part. Take a breath, and enjoy it.” He was, as always, right. When you know you’re marrying the right person everything else just falls into place. It is quite cliché, but don’t sweat the small stuff. Everyone gathered is there to witness your celebration of love and joy.

T: Enjoy the day and relax.

Funniest memory?

S: During the father/daughter dance and the burst of laughter when the lyric “Dear mom and dad, please send money. I’m so broke that it ain’t funny…”

T: Shannon almost tripping over her dress coming up the steps to the altar.

If you could do it all over would you change anything?

S: Nope! It was a dream :) Well, maybe listened to all of the advice about relaxing a bit more ;) lol

T: Nothing

We will be honeymooning at Walt Disney World in April!
