Emily, Chris & Jake! Indianapolis Family Portraits

May 3, 2016

“The family is the first essential cell of human society.” -Pope John XXIIIfamily photography Indianapolis, Indiana

Some of you might remember Emily, Chris and Jake from a couple years ago [click HERE for their session near Louisville!]  Since they are getting ready to add to their family [yay for baby brother coming soon!!!], we met up to photograph their family again before they add in the new addition!

And you guys, I know I say this about every client, but I seriously LOVE this family.  The last time I was with them down in Kentucky, Jake wasn’t talking and wasn’t walking yet.  THIS time, Jake was chatty Cathy, and had so much energy and curiosity!  I LOVED it!

My favorite things about this session are the following: Jake’s stuffed Robin [Jake’s Nana passed away last year and her name was Robin, so it’s a special stuffed animal]; Jake’s curiosity about every back alley we went into, and every tube he found lying on the ground, and just EVERYTHING, so so awesome; our stop for fries [not pictured] and milkshakes [which according to Emily, can heal anything]; Jake telling secrets to baby brother [who is obviously still in mommy’s belly]; Emily’s beautiful smile; Chris’ patience with their curious little boy.

We had such a good time taking portraits around Indianapolis!  First at Fountain Square area, and then down in Garfield Park.  And while I know historically, family portraits aren’t a ton of fun, I SOOOO enjoy them, and I think Emily, Chris and Jake will back me up on this!  Since M.Rinaye is an on-location photographer, we’re never in a studio, so we basically take a long adventure walk together where we point out cool things, look for awesome colors, and then have a lot of fun being weird and spunky and laughing with the family.  I’m basically there to photograph some fun with you.  Of course our goal is to get beautiful photos, but there’s no reason why we can’t have a REALLY awesome fun time together.

So, Emily, Chris and Jake, I LOVED hanging out with you!  I can’t wait for baby brother to get here and to see your family grow and love on each other even more!  Thanks so much for trusting me to capture these memories for you!
