Ashley and Bryce! Indianapolis, Indiana Christmas Tree Farm Portrait Session
“I think true success is intrinsic… It’s love. It’s kindness. It’s community.” -Tom Shadyac
Meet Ashley and Bryce!
So, old school photography community often times wasn’t one where you found a ton of friends [that whole competing for the same customers thing], BUT, in new school photography, there has been a rise in the community over competition within the professional photography realm. Which is awesome, and amazing, and I’m pretty thankful for it.
WHICH, is why I’m friends with Ashley. I was searching for a second shooter for an Indy wedding when we first moved back to Indianapolis in 2015, and came across her name on Second in Seconds. While she was already booked for the day I needed, she reached out and said she’d love to do coffee or lunch together some day. Which is just awesome! Because my love of people often clashes with the hours spent solo behind a computer screen where a lot of my work is done.
I’ve super enjoyed hanging out with her in the past year and a half, and getting to know her and have her as a friend/co-photographer in the Indianapolis area.
THIS YEAR, I decided Ronald and I needed a real life Christmas tree… and what goes best with a real life Christmas tree? A fun Christmas Tree Farm photo shoot! So I asked if Ashley and Bryce wanted to do a little swap-a-roo for photos!
And here are the beautiful tree farm photo results! Yay! I’m super in love with how they turned out [both her’s and ours (to be shown at a later date)]. And special thanks to Jay’s Tree Farm for letting us come out and wander through the trees… AND, of course for providing Ronald and my amazing smelling Christmas tree this year [it was our FIRST real life tree! Also, turns out we only have enough ornaments for one side, good thing it was wedged into a corner ;)].
And it turns out, Ashley and Bryce had some beautiful news to share! I won’t spoil it, but if you want to read her journal, you can CLICK OVER HERE, and read about it ;).
Ashley! So grateful to have you in my community, and so happy and excited for you in this new season of life for you and Bryce!
Cheers to 2017 adventure!
ps: Starting out with one of my FAVORITES… I mean, woah!!!
pps: If you look at Ashley’s journal, you can see our different editing styles, which I find kind of fun. Not only are we different in how we see the world, but we’re also different in how we deliver the final portraits from that world.
