Caitlin & Rob! South Bend, Indiana Wedding Photography

July 25, 2017

“Beautiful morning, you’re the sun in my morning, babe.” -Kanye West

So, these two were last on my blog for their beautiful Chicago engagement session [HERE].  And since Caitlin is friends with past brides Molly and Morgan, I pretty much KNEW her and Rob’s wedding was going to be glorious!!!

And it was.  It was fantastic.

From getting ready at Bangs, to their adorable first look, their seriously awesome bridal party [totaling 18 including the bride and groom], and the amazingly fun photo booth at their reception, their wedding day was packed with so so much good!

Caitlin, I love that you teared up reading Rob’s unexpected note to you [side note, my brother and I do the same thing when we see random public art pieces: “ART!”].  Rob, I love how your smile was so wide while waiting on Caitlin to tap you on the back for your first look.  You guys are so cool.  And your friends are awesome.  And your family is so sweet.  Your wedding day was so beautiful!  The details, the people, the special moments.  Lovely.

I loved every minute of hanging out with you, your family and your bridal party on your wedding day!

Cheers to all your firsts in married life!

Most memorable moment?

C: The best moment for was right at the end of our ceremony when Father Dave introduced us as Mr. and Mrs. Langtry and we turned to see all of our favorite in the people in the world smiling and cheering for us. It was so great to finally make it official and have the moment we had been waiting for since we got engaged! Also walking into the reception and seeing everything we had spent months and months planning all put together and all of our closest friends and family having fun was the best feeling. It was everything we had hoped for and more!

R: Being out on the dance floor with all of our friends and family. We’ve been to some weddings where the dance floor never really gets going. From the second Darryl Buchanan & the Reflections started playing, we had a packed dance floor. We even had to move some tables back to make room for everyone out there! Very unexpected, but going up on the shoulders of a groomsmen and an usher during Who Let The Dogs Out was certainly memorable as well.

Advice for future brides/grooms?

C: Take 5 minutes to have to yourself just you and your new husband/wife. The day flies by and there are so many people you want to spend time with its easy to forget to spend a moment with each other to take it all in! Also, if it fits in your wedding budget, a day of coordinator was hands down the best money we spent. Our wonderful planner Lauren made sure our day went off without a single hitch and we didn’t have to worry about a thing except enjoying ourselves!

R: Enjoy the day – it goes by so fast!

Funniest memory?

C: Getting lifted onto the shoulders of a groomsman and an usher during Who Let the Dogs out. Its a ridiculous joke with our group of friends and I could not stop laughing while getting carried around the dance floor with everyone shouting WHO WHO WHO! Also watching our personalized snapchat story the morning after to see what everyone posted from the day was hilarious.

R: The photobooth with by dad & Grampa. My Grampa was hamming it up and you can see from the pictures – I was cracking up.

If you could do it all over would you change anything?

C: No, it was the most perfect weekend!

R: No, maybe make it a few hours longer!

We’ll be touring Croatia & the Greek Islands for two and a half weeks at the end of August.  After the wedding, we did a “mini-moon” to Saugatuck, Michigan. It is the cutest little beach town with good food, great wine, and fun little shops! A perfect way to unwind.

Lastly, are there any other vendors that you LOVED and want to give a special shout out to?

Darryl Buchanan & the Reflections were absolutely incredible! We had both said at the beginning of planning that a live band was a must have for our reception and they did not disappoint! It was also so special to have our father/daughter and mother/son songs played live.
