Smith Family! Indianapolis, Indiana Family Session in Broad Ripple

March 27, 2018

“I think my mom put it best. She said, ‘Little girls soften their daddy’s hearts.'” -Paul Walker

I’ve known Ally and Nate for a few years [we all worked together at a studio in town years and years ago, when we were kids ourselves ;)].  So when Allison e-mailed me to say they needed some new family photos, I was SUPER excited.

Our session was delightful.  Addi sang me her favorite song, the Paw Patrol song, we explored around the Indianapolis Arts Center, we wandered around Broad Ripple a bit, and we dodged piles of ‘poopy’ [thanks for pointing them out Addi!]

I loved family sessions before I had Z, they were fun, and interesting, and just a cool thing to be a part of.  But since having my sweet baby, there’s like this whole other level of beauty in a family session.  I realize the importance of them so much more.  Our tiny humans grow so quickly!  And sometimes as a mom or dad, you see their little special quirks/habits, but can’t quite get photos of it in action [most recently, Z has started to scrunch up his face and sniff his nose in and out really quickly… it’s adorable, but I have yet to get a photo of it with my professional camera].

And guys, lets be real, we each have thousands of photos of our tiny humans because of our awesome smart phones and digital camera’s in general.  But parents getting in the shots too, are super important.  I look back at my family photos, and of course look at me, but I LOVE looking at my parents when they were a young mommy/daddy and how they interacted with us when we were tiny.

So, if you’re on the fence about scheduling a family session.  DO IT!  Even if your budget means you can’t hire me, go get yourself a sweet photo of your family at the stage you’re in right now.

Smith family, y’all were so much fun to hang out with.  I’m super stoked to share these beautiful images with you.

Cheers!
~Maike
