Zander’s Cake Smash! Indianapolis, Indiana Personal Post

April 3, 2018

“Having a baby is a life-changer. It gives you a whole other perspective on why you wake up every day.” Taylor Hanson

So a month later, and I’m finally sharing Z’s 1 year old portraits and cake smash!  Hooray!

You guys, I love him.  I love these sweet photos of him.  I love how excited he is about new things, and the curiosity he has about life [see him licking the balloon, I mean, it appears to be covered in sprinkles, why wouldn’t you see if it tastes like sprinkles?!?!…. although, this was BEFORE he got his hands in the sprinkle cake… but still… curiosity adorableness ftw!]

I’ve been doing weekly photos of him, and monthly photos of him, and taking random shots of him here and there, but those were all pretty basic [don’t get me wrong, I like that they’re basic – I’ll share them eventually, they were pretty low pressure].  But for his first birthday I gave it some more thought, bought some adorable doughnut balloons to go with his party theme, and an AMAZING cake for him to try on his birthday [from Taylors Bakery, and guys, honestly, it was SOOOOO good; go there and buy a cake next time you need one].

This was not only his first time tasting cake and sprinkles, but also his first time seeing and playing with balloons.  I am SO glad we got photos of it.  He was so smiley and curious, and just generally intrigued by them!  It was awesome.

Tiny child, you have changed my life and made it 1000 time better than it was before.  So glad you’re here.  So honored to be your mommy.

PS: We had the extra cake in the cake box the week after the session to munch on whenever [like we do, when there’s extra amazing cake, duh].  And overtime we would hold Z and walk past it, he would make an “MMMMM” noise and wiggle his feet and get excited that he might be getting another taste.  And if we opened the box, more squeals of delight.  It was hilarious.

PPS: I kept in the drool drops and didn’t photoshop them out because guys, he was FINALLY pushing out his first tooth!!!  Sooo, obviously, #allthedrool
