Teresa and Drew! Indianapolis, Indiana Proposal

July 23, 2020

“Love is of all passions the strongest, for it attacks simultaneously the head, the heart and the senses.” – Lao Tzu

Proposals!  I’ve said it before, and I’m sure I’ll say it again, but I LOVE proposals.  As I was driving downtown Indy to photograph Drew and Teresa, I kept going over details and thinking through my settings and camera, etc.  And I took a moment to be like, “Yeah, proposals are nerve wrecking!”  Ha!  I mean, I’m sure more for the proposer than me, but I’m there too, hoping that all details for the special moment go as planned, and double checking my time, and location, and, in this case, hoping I don’t have to go too far to find parking.

ANYWAY, meet Drew and Teresa!  Drew called me up a few weeks before the proposal and after both visiting and scoping out the location, we hatched a plan, that went off without a hitch.  Surprise proposal?  Yes!  Mini engagement/newly proposed to session around downtown Indy?  Yes!  Follow up surprise dinner with parents and brothers?  Yes!

Delightful things about this proposal: Teresa dabbing away tears after Drew asked her to marry him, and saying something along the lines of, “Oh man!  I wore the wrong mascara for this!”  Also, them explaining to me that Le Meridian was where Drew’s parents spent the first night together has husband and wife [guys, you KNOW I’m a sucker for sentimentality built into the story], and the gorgeous ring… ya’all… there’s a diamond from her grandmothers ring, and a diamond from his grandmothers ring, and they PERFECTLY fit each other one on each side of Teresa’s new diamond.  UGH.  So good.  I love jewelry that has a story!  When my husband asked my bff about what ring he should be considering from me, she was like, “It needs to have a story.”  My engineer of a husband was like, “I’m sorry, what?!”  [Mine has his birthstone in it; which I love].

Shoutout to Le Meridian and Spoke and Steele for being super rad places.  And to the ladies biking around on the Pickled Peddler who provided some tunes on our portrait walk, and those random street musicians who hooted and hollered when I had these two smooch in front of an awesome building.

Congratulations Drew and Teresa!

Cheers!
